Casement windows

A casement is a window that is attached to its frame by one or more hinges at the side. Casement windows are often installed in pairs, so that they can open out like patio doors. Casement windows are generally the most energy efficient, as there are no sliding parts that can let air through.

Staywarm casement windows are:

  • Available in timber, uPVC and aluminium;
  • Suitable for homeowners looking for the highest energy efficiency;
  • PVCu does not transfer heat;
  • Available in a huge range of colours and finishes.

Sash windows

A sash window or hung sash window is made of one or more movable panels. Traditionally, one panel is fixed while the other can slide up and down, but in more modern sash windows, both parts can move. Sash windows are great for period properties looking to retain the classic window styling.

Staywarm sash windows are:

  • Available in timber and uPVC;
  • Suitable for older properties;
  • Available in a huge range of colours and finishes;

Flush fit windows

Flush fit, or flush profile windows are designed to mimic the style of windows in older properties, where all of the windows fit flat (or flush) with the frame. When you look at flush fit windows from the side, there are no parts jutting out other than the handles. Flush fit windows are available in casement and sash styles.

Bay windows

Popular in Victorian and Edwardian homes, bay windows project outward from the main walls of a building, forming a bay in a room. Bay windows typically have 3 or more panels and can provide a panoramic view of the outside, letting in lots of natural light.

Staywarm bay windows are:

  • Available in timber, uPVC and aluminium;
  • Suitable for all house types;
  • Available in a range of colours and finishes;

Bow windows

Similar to a bay window, a bow window projects out from the main walls, creating an extra space in the room. Bow windows consist of more panels than a bay window, creating a rounder shape. Bow windows are designed to create space and to provide a wider view of the garden.
